Profile
North Toronto occupies a generally central location within the current "megacity" boundaries. It is a relatively narrow strip, centered on Yonge Street, extending from the CP tracks south of St. Clair Ave., north to Yonge Boulevard, with its core area between Davisville Avenue and Blythwood Road. The commercial strips along Yonge St., Mount Pleasant Rd., and Bayview Ave., and Eglinton Ave. offer an array of shopping and dining. As the main streets in Toronto neighbourhoods, many of these shops are locally-owned street level buildings. The corner of Yonge and Eglinton features the Yonge Eglinton Centre complex, which includes a shopping mall, cinema, subway connection and both office and residential towers. There are also many libraries in the area. You will find one on Bayview Ave., at Yonge and Lawrence, and near Yonge and Eglinton, as well as a children's-focused library on Mount Pleasant. There are two community centers in North Toronto, the Central Eglinton Community Centre, at Eglinton and Redpath and North Toronto Memorial Community Centre located at Eglinton Ave. and Oriole Parkway.
North Toronto is composed of many distinct neighbourhoods such as Bedford Park, Chaplin Estates, Davisville Village, Lawrence Park, Lytton Park, Wanless Park, and Yonge & Eglinton, and has more recently been referred to as Midtown. Whether you are looking for condos in midtown Toronto, homes in Lawrence Park, new houses in Bedford Park, condos at Yonge and Eglinton.
